October 27, 2018 I visited Louvre in Paris, France. With its magnificent appearance, rich collections and exquisite interiors, Louvre emphasizes a deep cultural heritage and is convincing.
According to information, Louvre in Paris, France, was built in 1204. It was originally a royal palace where 50 French kings and queens lived. It is one of most valuable buildings of French Renaissance. paintings and sculptures, it was later converted into Louvre. The Louvre is built in center of Paris, France, on north bank of Seine River, covers an area of 198 hectares, ranks first among four largest museums in world and is a real and world-famous palace of art. A little-known story is also hidden in birth of Louvre, that is, Louvre was originally used as a defensive structure, and then gradually, after a series of reconstructions and expansions, turned into a brilliant palace. According to historical records, from 16th century, Francis I began to massively collect various works of art, and successive kings continued this tradition and enriched Louvre collection. Today, Louvre has a collection of 400,000 works of art, including sculptures, paintings, decorative arts and seven categories, including ancient East, ancient Egypt, ancient Greece and Rome. In 1981, French government undertook another massive renovation of this exquisite building, and Louvre has since become a professional museum.
It is worth noting that at entrance to main entrance of Louvre, there is a building with a glass pyramid, designed by famous Chinese-American architect I. M. Pei, who gives Louvre its splendor. The Louvre is known to world as one of three largest museums in world, its art collections are rich in variety and of high quality, which makes it a world-class museum. After I visited Louvre, I learned more by listening to introduction that Louvre houses most important treasures of city palace: Venus de Milo, Da Vinci's Mona Lisa and Victory of Samothrace. Other well-known works include: "Diana emerging from bath", "Harlequin", "Coronation of Napoleon I", "The God of Liberty Leading People", "Girl Weaving a Flower Ribbon" and so on.
The appearance of Louvre is very characteristic. It looks like a dark gray building. At same time it was a royal palace of Louis XIV era. A floating museum. According to reports, there were only 162 works in original collection of Louvre. During Napoleonic period, Napoleon rampaged world and plundered a large number of valuable works of art from many countries. Among them are a large number of precious antiquities looted from Turkey and Egypt, as well as precious sculptures and paintings of Pope in Rome. Coupled with subsequent looting, there are more and more works of art in Louvre. Favorites.
I visited Louvre for sightseeing, especially after witnessing exquisite building of Louvre, its collection and displaytourists of many priceless paintings and objects, I was immediately attracted to Louvre. Magnificent appearance, rich collections and a sense of shock and impression of a deep cultural heritage.
