With 84.5 million tourists a year, France is number one tourist destination in world. The Palace of Versailles in capital Paris, Eiffel Tower and a cruise on Seine are its iconic sights, while Palace of Versailles and baroque gardens are even more must-see attractions. Provence in south is full of purple lavender and even air is filled with a soothing fragrance. The Côte d'Azur in southeast is a holiday destination for French, with sandy beaches, sea water and sun making it a relaxing getaway. A group of castles on banks of Loire silently tells royal stories of past.
France has a variety of tourism resources. Lovers of big cities, exquisite architecture and first-class art galleries will definitely stay in Paris, and castles in Loire Valley will surprise you. The bright sun, beautiful coastline and patches of lavender in south of France make it most beautiful summer resort in Europe. The mountain villages at foot of Alps and Pyrenees are breathtakingly beautiful, and Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy is a unique gem in world.
1. The Louvre
As one of four largest museums in world, it has a collection of 400,000 exhibits, which can be called palace of all treasures. The three treasures of town hall are famous "Venus de Milo", "Mona Lisa" and "Goddess of Victory". At same time, it is also filming location for The Phantom of Louvre and The Da Vinci Code.
The museum has a crystal-clear glass inverted pyramid, which is visited by many people every day. Before painting, Mona Lisa was crowded with people, and head and hands of goddess of victory were lost, but she is still considered a famous masterpiece of ancient Greek sculpture. Indeed, no matter from what angle, audience can see and feel majestic appearance of goddess of victory, spreading her wings. There are too many collections in Louvre, besides "Three Treasures of Louvre" there are a few more treasures not to be missed. Only while on stage, you will be captivated by beauty of these works of art. The exquisite stone carvings of Ancient Greece and Rome are exquisite works of art. Although I don't know carvings or religious stories behind them, their beauty alone is enough to impress. We were blown away by Louvre's precious art collections, how beautiful outside world is. Today, I am so happy to see famous Three Treasures of Town Hall, as well as various famous paintings and sculptures.
Second, Versailles
Located in city of Versailles, capital of province of Evelyn, on southwestern outskirts of Paris, France, it is one of five largest palaces in world. In 1979 it was included in "List of World Cultural Heritage". The garden is an example of French gardens, showing French beauty and craftsmanship, distinct from Oriental gardens everywhere. The palace is famous for its luxurious and original architectural design, exterior is made in style of French classicism, and interior is decorated with baroque and rococo elements. The Treaty of Paris and Treaty of Versailles were signed here, and popular series Versailles was filmed here many times. Here is magnificent dream of Louis XIV, but we must not forget difficult history of China in 1919. The Chinese coming here should not forget pain of Versailles peace treaty.
3. Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower is a product of World Exhibition in Paris in 1889, dedicated to 100th anniversary of French Revolution. Today it is tallest building in Paris.
The Eiffel Tower has a distinct tower structure during day, while spotlights and light bulbs will create a flickering effect at night, after dark until 1:00 am (summer lasts until 2:00 am), and first 10 minutes of every hour flashes.
The observation deck on first floor has largest area and is equipped with conference rooms, cinemas, restaurants, shops and other service facilities. There is a panorama of Paris on ground floor platform and you can enjoy sights you want to see according to directions marked on it. There are 704 stairs from bottom of tower to second floor. This floor has best view. If you go up stairs to visit, you only go to second floor. If you want to go to top floor, you need to wait in line for elevator here. The observatory on top floor is most convenient for viewing from afar, and here you need to line up to get to elevator leading to top floor.
Every year on July 14, France's National Day, you can go to Champ de Mars under Eiffel Tower to enjoy a concert and watch National Day fireworks display.
